Midway between Botswana’s Okavango Delta, and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Meno A Kwena (Tooth of the crocodile) is a quirky and welcoming tented camp that provides guests with a traditional safari experience reminiscent of the past. Located on a cliff edge, it overlooks the Boteti River which only began flowing again in 2008, after being dry for 15 years.
Each serviced canvas tent features a semi en suite shower, flush toilet, and an authentic concealed outdoor safari shower. Hidden amongst natural vegetation, but in full view of the Boteti River, guests benefit from privacy, while at the same time feel immersed in an ever-changing and exciting landscape.
Food that ‘nurtures the soul’ is served in the dining tent that doubles as the bar, kitchen, lounge area and library. A natural rock plunge pool is the perfect place to observe the competition for water at the river below, and viewing loungers keep you in the moment amid the silence of the Makgadigadi Pans, bustle of river seeking herds, and the serenity of the surrounding parks and wildlife.
