At the centre of a private 30-acre estate in the heart of the South African winelands, La Residence sits in the Franschoek valley at the foot of spectacular mountains, surrounded by vines.
Eleven sumptuous suites in the east and west wings ooze old-school opulence and glamour, yet the hotel’s setting is every bit as luxurious as its interiors. Antiques adorn many of the public spaces and the bedrooms, with furniture and design influences coming from Persia, Europe and, of course, Africa. For families, the five La Residence villas in the grounds of the main hotel are ideal. Sleeping two, four or six, some have private pools and gardens or terraces.
Whether you dine under chandeliers in the restaurant or under the stars in the al fresco Persian Alley, you will be served fresh seasonal produce from the La Residence kitchen garden, accompanied by a superb wine list.
After a busy day, enjoy spa treatment in your room or on your balcony, or soak up the sun from a lounger alongside the pool.
