Pantanal

Caiman is perhaps the most luxurious lodge in Brazil's Pantanal. Specifically located in the south, around three hours drive from Campo Grande airport, it consists of two standalone lodges within the grounds of a huge 53,000-hectare cattle ranch.

The three properties at Caiman are Casa Caiman (two main houses with a centralised pool), Villa Baiazinha, and the soon-to-open Villa Cordilheira (June 2026). All are independent, set up with private facilities, guides and vehicles. Villa Baiazinha operates year-round; Villa Cordilheira will offer a fully private, exclusive-use experience for up to 16 guests in seven bungalows, while Casa Caiman has recently undergone a complete renovation.

Wildlife viewing opportunities are impressive with a large lagoon, savannah, and forest to explore on horseback, on foot, by canoe, or 4×4. With the set-up of various conservation projects on their grounds, guests are able to take a guided jaguar tracking safari in Brazil's Pantanal once per stay.

Location & Getting There

Caiman is located on a 53,000-hectare ranch adjoining the small town of Miranda, in Brazil's Pantanal wetland, a 3-hour drive from Campo Grande Airport.

Accommodation

Caiman offers three distinct accommodation options. Casa Caiman, the main lodge, features 18 recently renovated suites with stylish communal areas and views over the bay. Villa Baiazinha is a six-bedroom private villa raised on stilts above a clearwater lagoon, with its own social area, deck, pool and private team. Villa Cordilheira is set to open in June 2026 as a fully exclusive-use villa with seven spacious bungalows accommodating up to 16 guests, private guides, vehicles, and dedicated leisure spaces including a gym, pizza oven, and TV room.

Activities

Wildlife viewing opportunities are ample with the large lagoon, savannah, and forest to explore on horseback, on foot, by canoe, or 4×4. With the set-up of various conservation projects on their grounds, guests are able to take a guided jaguar tracking safari once per stay. Other regular activities include a photographic safari, walking tours, canoe tours, jeep safari, and night safari.

Children

Children are welcome at Caiman but there are no specific facilities available.
