Launching in the 2026–27 season, the ship sets a new standard in boutique polar travel, offering an elevated experience for those seeking luxury cruises to Antarctica. With advanced polar navigation capabilities and hybrid-electric propulsion, Magellan Discoverer is engineered for efficiency and environmental responsibility. Accommodating 76 guests and featuring all-balcony cabins, a sauna, a dining room, a library, and wonderful activities that bring you close to the surrounding raw wildlife, this is truly a bucket-list experience.
Accommodation
Designed by Tomas Tillberg Design, the ship’s interiors strike a balance between sophistication and expedition readiness. Each cabin offers a blend of premium comfort and functionality, with spacious layouts, heated bathroom floors, ample wardrobe space, higher ceilings and private sitting areas. The ship also offers twelve exclusive suites, including family and triple suite configurations perfect for families or larger groups.
Food and Drink
All guests can be accommodated in a single dining room, which offers buffet-style breakfasts and lunches and a plated dinner menu drawing on Chilean flavours. Lunch and dinner are complemented by a curated selection of Chilean wines, and an outdoor BBQ area is available when conditions allow. A 24-hour self-service area in the lounge offers hot drinks and light refreshments.
Activities
The Magellan Discoverer offers a full programme of guided excursions, led by a team of polar experts. Experiences include Zodiac cruises, hiking, kayaking, wildlife and whale watching, and the iconic polar plunge. With all guests able to disembark simultaneously, shore time is optimised across each landing.
Sustainability
The ship features cutting-edge sustainability measures, including a heat recovery system that recycles engine heat to reduce energy use onboard. The hybrid-electric propulsion system further enhances operational efficiency and environmental performance.
Children
Children aged 12 and above are welcome on board.

Expeditions typically depart from Punta Arenas, Chile, with frequent domestic flights available from Santiago.
