Casa Del Presidente

Nestled in the charming colonial town of Barichara, Casa del Presidente is a luxurious private villa and former residence of Colombia’s late president Belisario Betancur. The villa seamlessly blends heritage and modern luxury, accommodating up to 10 guests with five bedrooms, offering fresh interiors, expansive gardens, a swimming pool, and a private chef. Guests can savour tailored menus showcasing local ingredients, from fresh-baked bread to bonfire-lit dinners with a modern twist. Accommodation

The luxury villa has five independent suites, complete with en-suite bathrooms. Each room is fitted with king-sized beds, 300 thread count sheets and premium amenities.

Guests can indulge in meals prepared by a private chef, who will cater to all needs and preferences. As the villa is close to Barichara, guests are encouraged also to also eat locally, enjoying and immersing themselves in Colombia’s vibrant cuisine and culture.

How to get there

The closest airport to Barichara is in San Gil, about a 40-minute drive away, but it has limited commercial flights. Most flights arrive in Bucaramanga, a four-hour drive or a 20-minute helicopter ride away, crossing the stunning Chicamocha Canyon.
