Jicaro Island Lodge

Jicaro Island Lodge is an idyllic property in Nicaragua on one of Lake Nicaragua's 400 islands with breathtaking views of the Granada Islets and the dormant Mombacho volcano.

There are just 9 rooms or 'casitas' at Jicaro and the property was built from trees felled by Hurricane Felix, with the furniture in the casitas made from tropical hardwoods. Each Casita enjoys lake views, with a terrace and a large hammock.

Guests staying at the lodge have an abundance of lake based activities to choose from including kayaking, boating or paddleboarding, plus nature trails and birwatching or yoga on the private deck. This is a place where you can really relax and switch off away from the crowds.

If you want to explore further afield Jicaro Island Lodge is just 20 minutes from the beauitful old colonial city of Granada. Also, an hour's drive away is the Mombacho volcano, where you can enjoy hiking and ziplining.

How to Get There

Jicaro Island Lodge is located in the Granada Islets. It is reached by a 10-minute drive from Granada City to the port, followed by a short 10-minute boat ride to the island. If you're coming from the airport, the journey takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes by land.

Accommodation

There are 9 luxury casitas, each accommodating up to 4 guests. The bungalows feature a king-size bed upstairs and a queen-size sofa bed downstairs. Each casita has a ceiling fan but no air conditioning.

Children

Due to the property's location, children under 8 are not able to be accommodated. However, families with older children can enjoy various activities, including boat rides, bird watching, artisanal fishing, sustainability tours, hikes at Hacienda La Calera, and visits to hot springs.
