The Henry Jones Art Hotel

Occupying a prime spot on Hobart’s waterfront, a row of historic warehouses and a former jam factory have been transformed into Australia’s first dedicated art hotel. The Henry Jones Art Hotel showcases over 500 continually changing, contemporary Tasmanian artworks in a building that is, in itself, a work of art.

The individually designed rooms and suites are decorated in earthy tones with views over the waterfront and Mount Wellington. Original features, such as exposed sandstone walls, are complemented by modern touches and artworks, while the modern bathrooms feature spa baths.

Diners can choose between a locally sourced menu in the Peacock and Jones restaurant or enjoy Asado grilled steaks and seafood in the Landscape Restaurant and Grill, accompanied by an extensive wine list. Afterward, retire to the IXL Long Bar for live jazz and cocktails.

Guests enjoy a complimentary art and history tour of the building, plus there’s plenty to keep you occupied in the region, including Mount Wellington, Coal Valley vineyards, and the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary.
