The Peech Hotel

Located in Melrose, a short stroll from the hustle and bustle of the city, The Peech Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa is a fabulous boutique property with bedrooms spread across lush gardens. Owners James and Vicky live on-site with their children, so the property feels very friendly and welcoming.

Rooms come in five categories: luxury Rooms, Classic Rooms, Heritage Rooms, Peech Suites and the Peech Villa. Décor varies between rooms, but expect crisp, white bed linen, colourful chairs, cushions and wallpaper, and modern bathrooms with tub. The Garden rooms all come with small terraces – rooms upstairs get the sunshine, and those on the ground floor have more privacy.

The Peech Hotel features two restaurants. The bistro is a cosy, light-filled room overlooking the garden. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served here, or can be taken in your room at no extra charge. There's a small bar for cocktails and pre-dinner drinks. The second, Basalt, is open to the public for dinners Tuesday to Saturday.

Two outdoor swimming pools offer the perfect respite on a hot day. Hit the poolside sun loungers with a sunshade to save yourself from the South African sunshine.

Location & Getting There

The Peech Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa is within walking distance of Melrose Arch and five minutes by car to the business district of Sandton. The Gautrain stations of Rosebank and Sandton are equidistant, so the airport and Pretoria are easily accessible.

Accommodation

The Luxury Rooms are the newest rooms and are spread throughout the hotel’s lush gardens. They feature oak floors, huge walk-in raindance showers, and large patios.

The well-appointed Classic Rooms are offer lovely views across our lush gardens and pool area. Each room has either a private balcony or patio for guests to relax and enjoy our beautiful central gardens.

The Heritage Rooms are located upstairs in the property’s original residence and adjacent to each other. They’re designed around the character of the old house, and both have beautiful garden views.

Suites are the most spacious rooms and are located in an especially quiet part of our gardens for the ultimate tranquil urban hideaway. They feature extra-large bathrooms and an expansive, open-plan living space.

The two-Bedroom Villa offers a Master and Second Bedroom, both with en suite bathrooms, connected via a central lounge/TV area. There’s also a private outdoor space, with al fresco dining area and water feature.

Activities

Away from The Peech Hotel, guests can visit Melrose Arch and Sandton, the Arpartheid Museum, Constitution Hill, Vilakazi Street and neighbourhood markets.

Children

Children are most welcome at The Peech Hotel. Two Heritage Rooms are spacious enough to add a cot or foldaway bed in the adjoining room, or the Classic Rooms can also accommodate a child. Children aged under two stay for free in cots.
