Tour Of Lima

Enjoy a full day tour of Lima, Peru's capital city which is a rich kaleidoscope of colonial architecture, pre-Columbian sites, charming residential areas and vibrant shopping districts.

After lunch you’ll head to the Rafael Larco Herrera Museum, which exhibits the largest private collection of Pre-Columbian Peruvian art in the world. You’ll also discover the city's beautiful Pacific coast through the neighbourhoods of San Isidro and Miraflores.

Cusco – Sacred Valley

Today you’ll fly to Cusco and transferred to Sacred Valley, that is 2 hours away.

After being escorted to your hotel the afternoon will be spent at your leisure.

The Sacred Valley

Enjoy a full day tour of the Sacred Valley, including a visit to the market of Pisac on the northeast of Cusco which hosts a daily fair selling handicrafts, textiles and replicas of pre-Hispanic pottery. 

In the afternoon, visit the fortress of Ollantaytambo, built by the Incas, and featuring steep stone staircases, temples and esplanades.

Hiram Bingham Train To Machu Picchu

Board the Hiram Bingham train that winds through the Urubamba Valley to the fascinating mountaintop ruins of Machu Picchu.

Embark on a tour of the historical Machu Picchu ruins which was buried in the jungle until Hiram Bingham discovered it in 1911. Today, Machu Picchu represents an extraordinary example of architecture and engineering, with numerous ruins to explore amidst amazing views.

Machu Picchu

Explore Machu Picchu at your leisure. It's up to you how you want to spend your time, and Lightfoot Travel can organise private tours according to your preferences.

You’ll take the Hiram Bingham train back to Cusco in the evening, enjoying a three-course dinner and cocktails while on board.

City Tour Of Cusco

Head on a private city tour of Cusco. You’ll have the chance to visit the Koricancha, Temple of the Sun and  San Pedro market.

Belmond Andean Explorer Train To Puno

Board the Belmond Andean Explorer train to Puno for a 10-hour train journey where you’ll witness mountainous landscapes and the rolling plains of the Altiplano. The train itself is elegantly decorated in the style of the great Pullman trains of the twenties, featuring dining cars and a car-bar outdoor observatory.

Lake Titicaca

Embark on a cruise on Lake Titicaca with your private guide. You’ll sail towards the floating reed Uros islands, and visit Taquile Island for an insight into the culture of the lake and the island's inhabitants.

After the tour, you will head back to your hotel for the rest of the night.

Lake Titicaca

Today will be spent at your leisure, giving you the chance to enjoy the excursions and activities available at the lodge, like mountain biking, kayaking on the lake, hiking and much more.

Alternatively, simply just relax and pamper yourself at the spa.

Puno - Iquitos

Today you’ll fly to Iquitos, via Lima, where you’ll board ta luxury Amazon cruise where you will spend the next three nights.

You will be greeted with a welcome cocktail and a briefing upon arrival before embarking on the journey.

Amazon River – Yarapa River – Nauta Canoa

You’ll set sail from the Amazon River to the Yarapa River. Keep your binoculars handy to spot tropical songbirds, black collared hawks and sloths.

You’ll also have the opportunity to go fishing for Amazonia’s ferocious piranhas, and embark on a wildlife excursion with stargazing on the black waters of Nauta Caño.

Maranon Creek – Casual Jungle Walk – Yanayacupucate

After some early morning birdwatching session you’ll take a jungle walk while looking for medicinal trees, insects and poison dart frogs. You’ll also have the chance to swim, canoe or kayak in Yanayacu-Pucate River as you search for pink river dolphins. 

Come nightfall, focus your telescope on the dark sky to identify the planets and constellations. 
 

Day 14

Nauta Town – Manatee Rescue Centre – Departure

This morning you’ll head to the local fresh market and the Manatee Rescue Centre, an animal orphanage for Amazonian manatees.

You’ll also visit San Juan craft market on your way to the airport for your return flight home.
