COMO Uma Punakha

Uma Punakha is nestled in the lush Punakha Valley, overlooking the Mo Cho River. COMO’s second Bhutan hotel sits on a bend in the Mo Chu River and is surrounded by alpine views. A secluded area of Bhutan, it’s a three-and-a-half hour drive from Paro and offers a unique insight into Bhutan’s diverse landscapes, historic sites and spiritual culture.

The property houses nine Valley View rooms as well as two luxury private villas. Each room boasts sweeping views of the landscape and the Mo Chu River, which winds its way through rice fields and orchards.

Dining at Uma Punakha is a joy where you can enjoy numerous Bhutanese delicacies created from produce from local Phunaka farmers.

The COMO Shambhala Retreat is a highlight and offers a range of holistic, Asian-inspired treatments which include signature massages, facials and body therapies. Location & Getting There

COMO Uma Punakha is a 5-hour scenic drive from Paro Airport and sits in a secluded and less visited area of Bhutan, at the far western end of the lush Punakha Valley.

Accommodation

The property has nine Valley View Rooms and two free-standing private villas, all of which are protected by alpine views. The rooms, some with outdoor terraces, possess a comfortable lounge area with sweeping views of the valley below as well as the Mo Chu River. The one-bedroom villa boasts a separate living room, dressing room and an expansive bedroom with floor-to-ceiling views of the valley. The COMO Villa features two bedrooms, a spacious living and dining area, and panoramas of the Punakha Valley.

Activities

This remote region of Bhutan is the perfect place for explorers and adventurers, where there are activities such as Himalayan trekking, archery and white water rafting. Guests can also visit many of the nearby cultural landmarks, and Lightfoot can organise historical tours with professional English speaking guides.
