Estancia Los Potreros

Experience authentic Argentinian life at the Estancia Los Potreros in the Cordoba region of Argentina. This family-run, 6,500-acre working cattle ranch is located high in the Sierras Chicas hills between the Pampas and the Andes, but less than an hour’s drive from Cordoba.

Accommodation is high quality yet simple, with an emphasis on comfort. The seven en-suite rooms feature antiques, while log fires keep you warm in winter.

With a maximum of 12 guests, there’s an intimate feel. Everybody dines together on home-grown organic vegetables and home-reared beef, accompanied by the estate’s own Malbec.

Guests are invited to become part of daily life. Go on trail rides around the grounds on horseback, join the gauchos as they work, learn how to lasso, and indulge in a game of polo. Out of the saddle, enjoy guided walks, try birdwatching, relax by the pool, or sip sundowners on your porch while soaking up the scenery.

Location & Getting There

The historic Estancia Los Potreros lies in the secluded Sierra Chicas hills in Argentina’s stunning Cordoba region, a 45-minute drive away from Cordoba Airport.

Accommodations

Los Potreros provides 7 spacious and tastefully furnished rooms featuring traditional furnishings, antiques, wood-burning stoves, log fires and private bathrooms. These rooms are designed to retain the history and style of estancia, hence the open-plan bedroom and sitting area all feature wooden or vintage colours.

Activities

Los Potreros has a herd of over 80 horses and there are plenty of opportunities to interact with them including riding with the gauchos, watching a polo match or seeing a horse-breaker at work. Trail riding in the hills provide a surprising variety of landscapes and terrain such as rocky outcrops, hidden valleys, tumbling waterfalls and wooded paths. Other activities include watching polo, picnic lunches by a waterfall, bird watching, exploring villages, visits to the cattle station and wine tasting.

Children

Children are made very welcome at Los Potreros and it is an ideal destination for families who enjoy the outdoors. The pool is great for children and there are vast areas of countryside to be explored around the estancia.
