Villa Bokeh

Guatemala

Villa Bokéh is a 15-room colonial-style luxury hacienda set within six acres of gardens in the Guatemalan Highlands, just outside the historic city of Antigua. Located a short ten-minute drive from the UNESCO World Heritage-listed old town, the property offers an intimate retreat. The main hacienda, with terracotta-tiled floors and red pantile roofs, centres on a classic white colonial structure, framed by cypress trees and garden paths. With its pool, spa, jacuzzis and easy access to Antigua, it is an ideal base for a luxury vacation to Antigua Guatemala.

Accommodation

Each of the rooms and suites has been individually designed, featuring distinct colour palettes and artworks inspired by Guatemala. Expect hand-carved colonial-style furniture, vintage mirrors, statement textiles and spacious tiled bathrooms. Many rooms enjoy garden or lake views, reinforcing the property’s calm, residential feel.

Food & drink

Dining at Bokéh 3.1 takes place on a generous terrace overlooking the lake and surrounding volcanoes. The menu blends international dishes with seasonal Guatemalan ingredients sourced from the kitchen garden and nearby farms. Bar El Burro offers a relaxed setting for cocktails, wine and light bites throughout the day.

Activities

Life at Villa Bokéh is intentionally unhurried, whether reading beneath palm trees, swimming in the pool or taking a boat out onto the lake. Antigua’s historic centre is close by, offering colourful streets, baroque architecture, cafés and markets to explore. For more active travellers, guided hikes through the surrounding volcanic landscape and spa treatments on return round out the experience.

Sustainability

Villa Bokéh is committed to local sourcing, with design elements, artworks and furnishings produced in Guatemala. The kitchen garden supplies fresh produce, while local farmers provide the remainder of the ingredients. A zero-plastic policy, rainwater collection and a comprehensive recycling programme underpin the property’s responsible approach.

Children

Children are welcome, with gardens, boating on the lake and a small play area on site. Babysitting services can be arranged on request.

Best time to go

The dry season from November to April offers the best weather for exploring Antigua and hiking in the surrounding volcanic landscape. March and April are particularly popular for cultural events, including Semana Santa.

How to get there

La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City is approximately one hour away by private transfer.

Why we recommend Villa Bokeh

Villa Bokéh feels as though it has been lifted from the pages of an old storybook, its romantic architecture framed by the dramatic outline of Volcán de Acatenango. It’s a beautiful place to spend a few days with a loved one, reading in the gardens, wandering Antigua’s cobbled streets, or enjoying long picnic lunches with volcano views.
