This luxury boutique resort lies on a secluded white-sand beach on the island of Ambergris Caye. Presenting rustic-chic style and traditional Central American influences, Matachica Resort & Spa will appeal to couples and honeymooners looking for a romantic and secluded tropical hideaway. The resort is not suitable for children under 14 years old.

Matachica provides 26 thatched-roof villas scattered throughout the tropical gardens to ensure maximum privacy. Each villa features colorful Caribbean-style décor, a king-size bed, a delightful bathroom, and a patio with a hammock. A two-bedroom villa is also available.

The resort’s award-winning Mambo Restaurant is considered one of the best in the country and serves up locally inspired, homemade dishes in a romantic setting.

For those wishing to do as little as possible, laze by the stunning pool, sip a cocktail in the Jacuzzi, or indulge in a massage at Jade Spa. Treatments use natural ingredients from the jungle and sea and the Banana Facial is divine. There is also a cinema lounge.

Location & Getting There
Matachica is located on the island of Ambergris Caye and can be reached by a 15-minute flight to the town of San Pedro from Belize City Airport. From there, hop aboard the resort's complimentary water-taxi to reach the resort.

Accommodation
Comprising of a total of 27 rooms, including 23 suites, artistically furnished and designed, the gorgeous Deluxe Beachfront Casita is located near the sea and guests can hear the sound of gentle seawalls crashing in the shores. Each casita has a thatched roof and a private porch. Each Ensuite Casita is coupled with double mosaic sinks which adds a playful touch of art.

Activities
Guests can relax and take a dip at the infinity pool or jacuzzi or indulge in a pampering spa treatment at Jade Spa that offers a variety of unique treatments. Guests can enjoy outdoor activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, or fishing with the Matchica Captain followed by a dinner with the day’s catch by the Mambo Chef. Guests can also explore the local shopping and dining in the nearby town of San Pedro.
