Davison’s Camp

Hwange National Park

Located in a remote, wildlife-rich area of the Hwange National Park, Davison’s Camp is part of the private Linkwasha Concession. It offers exceptional wildlife-viewing opportunities, with elephants, buffalos and antelopes regular visitors to its busy watering hole.

Accommodation is in nine safari-style tents, including one family unit. The tents are generously spaced, and they feature twin beds next to canvas sides that roll up so you have superb views from bed. There’s also an en suite with toilet and hot shower, and veranda overlooking the plains and watering hole.

Food is served on the pine deck. There’s also a lounge bar, sundeck, and plunge pool with a view of the watering hole.

The camp is renowned for its expert guides, with day and night game drives and guided bush walks the highlight of any stay. You can also go birdwatching, spot wildlife from the camp hide, or enjoy cultural visits to local villages.

Location & Getting There

Davison’s Camp lies deep in the heart of Hwange National Park, in the remote Linkwasha Concession. It is an 11-hour 30-minute international flight from OR Tambo International Airport, connecting to Victoria Falls. The Camp is also serviced by the private Linkwasha airstrip, a 40-minute drive from camp. The airstrip is called Linkwasha.

Davison's Camp has nine ensuite classic African tents, including one two-bedroom family tent. Each spacious tent is comfortably furnished with separate ensuite shower and a private veranda for taking in the incredible scenery.

Tents are thoughtfully nestled in the wild, offering spaces that feel deeply connected to the vastness of nature. Watch as sunlight casts the first golden light of day across warm wood floors, accented with traditional woven rugs. Cozy up under a down duvet in sumptuous beds. Feel the pull of Africa with natural materials, finishes, and accessories all around.

A stay at Davison’s Camp puts you closer to nature than you’ve ever dreamed possible. Head out on game drives in the early morning and afternoon, led by highly experienced guides. Venture out for an evening drive focusing on the nocturnal species that come out to play under the stars. Experience the park on foot on a walking safari. Or go for a guided tour of a local village where you’ll meet the headman or headwoman and enjoy cultural exchanges with the villagers. Lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, white rhinos, spotted hyenas, giraffes, wildebeests, and impalas – witness the incredible range of species that roam the land.

Davison's Camp does welcome children (with the two-bedroom family tent being an ideal base), however, keep in mind that apart from guided safari activities, specific activities for children are not offered.

Why we recommend Davison’s Camp

“The location of Davison’s Camp makes it excellent for game viewing; in summer, wildebeest, zebra and eland are found in abundance, while in winter the waterholes draw big numbers of elephants. Take the stairs to the platform above the main area where you’ll get a great panorama over the waterhole at the front of camp. The two bedroomed tent here is a fantastic option for a family.”
