Lewa Wilderness
Laikipia and Northern KenyaSet in the beautiful Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in the shadow of Mount Kenya, Lewa Wilderness is one of Kenya’s oldest safari ventures. Owned and run by the Craig family, this lodge has a home-from-home feel and offers a bespoke safari experience.
Accommodation is in nine individual cottages: six hillside rooms and three two-bed garden rooms that are perfect for families or small groups. Each en suite room is individually designed to maximise views, while inside antique and handmade furniture give a cosy feel.
Meals are served in the open-sided dining room, where guests can watch wildlife during the day and listen to the sounds of the African night over dinner. There’s also a lounge and bar, ideal for swapping stories and stargazing.
There are abundant safari activities on offer, including game drives and nocturnal game drives, birdwatching, guided walks, scenic flights and horseback safaris. Back at the lodge, laze around the infinity pool or workout in the open gym while watching passing wildlife.
