Chobe Game Lodge

Chobe National Park

Chobe Game Lodge lies on the banks of the Chobe River in Botswana’s Chobe National Park. The park is teeming with wildlife and has one of the largest concentrations of elephant found in Africa. This luxury safari lodge is one of Africa’s historic lodges and was originally made famous after Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton married there in the mid-1970s.

The lodge provides 47 elegantly-appointed and comfortable rooms and suites featuring traditional décor and delightful terraces overlooking the river. The private suites are perfect for guests looking to spoil themselves.

Meals are eaten in the open-sided restaurant where candles create a romantic feel in the evening. Other luxurious facilities include a pool, spa, and a unique boardwalk and deck.

Start your day at Chobe Game Lodge with a morning game drive followed by a boat safari along the floor plains. At sunset, relax on your deck as you watch wildlife grazing by the river.

Chobe Game Lodge Information

Location & getting there

The lodge is situated 90 minutes from Victoria Falls and is the only permanent lodge in the Chobe National Park riverfront region. It is 15 km from Kasane International Airport in Botswana.

There are 42 twin/double rooms, four luxury private suites and one family unit. Rooms are all river-facing, with spacious decks and air-conditioning. The suites are magnificent and come with a huge private terrace with infinity plunge pool as well as a dining area and lounge. There are seven interconnecting rooms, ideal for families.

The lodge is ideally located for game viewing in 4x4s, on boats or from the lodge itself. There are three safari activities every day and plenty of opportunity to spot The Big Five and other wildlife. Victoria Falls is also within easy reach. Guests on extended stays can take half or full-day trips to explore more remote areas in the region.

The lodge welcomes children of all ages and family accommodation is available. However, there are no babysitting facilities. Given the nature of the lodge, parent supervision is required at all times.
