Day 4
A day at Wai-O-Tapu
Visit Wai-O-Tapu (Sacred Waters) New Zealand’s most colorful and diverse active volcanic area with dramatic geysers, mineral terraces, lakes, craters, and bubbling mud pools. As you follow the trails you are introduced to a uniquely different natural landscape, the key to what you see lies below the surface, of one of the most extensive geothermal systems in New Zealand extending over 18 square kilometers.

Day 5
Rotorua - Lake Taupo
Visit the Maori Arts and Crafts Institute and Te Puia Thermal Reserve where you’ll enjoy a Maori cultural experience before entering the thermal area with silica terraces, bubbling mud pools and unique geothermal vegetation.
You’ll then make your way to Taupo.

Enjoy a guided walk through native bush to Kawakawa Bay in the Western Bays of Lake Taupo. Afterwards, embark on a half day cruise visiting bays and inlets only accessible by boat.

Day 7

Spend today at your leisure.
We recommend golf at Wairakei International Course, a WD flies fishing, a scenic helicopter flight over Mt Tarawera and White Island, experiencing The Aratiatia Rapids and surrounding nature trails, or a jet boat ride on the Waikato River.

Day 8

Today, you’ll drive your hire car to Hawke’s Bay.
Stop to see Huka Falls and continue along the Thermal Explorer Highway to Napier where you can go on a relaxing walk or indulge in some shopping.

Day 9
Cape Kidnappers Kiwi Sanctuary
Visit New Zealand's native bird, the kiwi, in the wild. You’ll get to see the guides carrying out monitoring of the kiwi chicks after they’ve been released on to the property, and you can join them as they check the radio transmitters and weigh and measure the birds to monitor their wellbeing.

Day 10
Gannet Colony
Today will be spent at your leisure.
Visit vineyards including Craggy Range, Te Mata Estate, Elephant Hill and New Zealand’s historic Mission Vineyard; drive up Te Mata Peak for stunning views; relax on Waimarama and Ocean Beach; or play golf at one of the most renowned golf course at Cape Kidnappers.
Your Lightfoot Travel Designer will be able to advise you on activities prior to departure.

Relax in your beach paradise. Try surfing, paddleboarding, scuba diving, yoga; go island hopping around the Mamanuca Islands; enjoy a sunset cruise followed by watching films under the stars.
Here you can go scuba diving and snorkeling to enjoy manta ray sightings, visit waterfalls, and go on an island-hopping picnic. Alternatively, find a spot under a shady palm tree and kick back with a book.
