Exploring the Ethnic Villages of Guizhou

Day 1

Arrival in Guiyang

Upon arrival in Guiyang, you’ll be met at the airport by a representative and privately transferred to your hotel.

The rest of the day is yours to explore at your leisure. Notable highlights of the city include the Jiaxiu Pavilion, a magnificent three-story building, and the Floating Jade Bridge located just below it.

In the evening, embark on a guided walking food tour to discover Guiyang’s vibrant street snacks and local culinary culture.

Day 2

Guiyang – Kaili – Langde

After breakfast, begin your Miao cultural journey with a visit to Kaili, home to numerous ethnic groups, including the Miao, Han, Dong, Mulao, She, Buyi, Shui, Yi, Zhuang, and Yao.

Explore the ethnic Museum, followed by a traditional local lunch. In the afternoon, visit two authentic Miao villages.

This evening, stay in a family-run guesthouse and enjoy a home-cooked dinner.

Day 3

Langde – Datang – Rongjiang

Start the day early with a visit to Langde Village, known for its striking architecture set amongst rivers, mountains, and rice paddies.

Continue on to the Datang Villages, nestled within rice terraces and rich in everyday local life.

Conclude the day in Rongjiang County, with time to explore its lively evening street scene.

Day 4

Rongjiang – Baji – Dangniu

After breakfast, visit the bustling local wet market, which is the most vibrant in the morning.

Later, depart for Baji Dong Village, with stops in several picturesque villages en route.

Spend the night in a charming local hotel in Dangniu Miao Village, offering sweeping views of the surrounding rice terraces.

Day 5

Dangniu – Jiaju – Zhaoxing

Begin the day with a two-hour trek from Dangniu, passing through terraced fields and small villages before looping back to your hotel.

After lunch, travel to Zhaoxing, stopping at two scenic villages along the way.

On arrival, spend the afternoon and evening at your leisure, exploring local eateries and artisan shops.

Day 6

Zhaoxing

Today is dedicated to exploring Zhaoxing, the largest Dong village in China.

Wander through the town at your own pace, admire the distinctive architecture, browse local crafts, or set out on a short hike around the village.

Enjoy your final evening at leisure.

Day 7

Departure

You will be transferred back to the airport in Guizhou for your onward flight.
