NorwayLocated in the center of Balestrand, Kviknes Hotel is a grand 18th-century waterfront hotel with views over Sognefjord. This luxurious Swiss-style property started life as a modest guesthouse and is now a popular hotel oozing old-world charm and ambiance.
The guestrooms and suites are divided between the heritage property and the modern wing. The modern wing is classic and contemporary, while the heritage rooms are unique and full of character. The spacious suites are on the front of the heritage building and feature balconies with fjord views.
There are two dining options: a sumptuous hot and cold buffet or a four-course à la carte dinner. All ingredients are fresh and locally sourced, and there’s an extensive wine list. There are also several lounge bars, which play host to the hotel’s art collection.
Kviknes Hotel is the ideal base to explore the natural wonders of Sognefjord and the Jostedal Glacier National Park. Activities include hiking, biking, kayaking, cultural and nature walks, and fishing.
