From the outside, it’s a 52 room log-style lodge in the middle of nowhere, 96km east of Reykjavik, but the reality is that it’s the perfect spot to watch volcanoes erupting and see the famed Northern Lights from the comfort of your hotel room.
Hotel Ranga provides 51 comfortable rooms and suites. Each room features simple country-style décor and all modern amenities and offers spectacular views of either the river or volcano. Individually designed suites, themed after each of the seven continents, are wonderfully fun and extravagant and include lavish bathrooms.
Dining at Hotel Ranga is a culinary adventure. The acclaimed gourmet restaurant overlooks East Ranga River, one of Iceland’s finest salmon rivers. Talented chefs prepare modern Nordic cuisine with a Mediterranean twist using the freshest seasonal ingredients.
