The Hidden Valley Resort
YunnanSet in a beautiful valley at 3,300 meters above sea level, The Hidden Valley Resort is China’s first glamping site. Located north of the Tibetan Bisong Village and only 20 minutes’ drive from Diqing Shangri-La Airport, the resort offers a glimpse into traditional Tibetan life.
There are five tented villas, featuring king-size beds with heated mattresses, heated en-suite, large bathtubs, and wood-burning stoves. There are a further ten rooms in the 150-year-old Tibetan residence, ranging from standard rooms with shared bathrooms to the Tibetan suite with en suite, private living space, and balcony.
The restaurant serves authentic local cuisine using seasonal produce from its organic garden and local produce from the farmers’ market. The Qingke Library & Bar offers a selection of local craft beers and traditional quigke liquor.
There are abundant activities from mountain hiking and exploring UNESCO-listed Napa Lake Nature Reserve, to guided walks through Tibetan villages, visiting Tibetan homes and monasteries, and learning local crafts.

Opened by four childhood friends who fell in love with the Shangri-La region, Hidden Valley Resort is the only glamping boutique property in the area and provides a unique experience for families and couples alike. Dog lovers will adore hiking and roaming the beautiful surrounds with Simba, the resident Tibetan Mastiff, and we recommend tucking into the yak meat pizza – the local chef’s specialty.
