Somalisa Acacia Camp

Somalisa Acacia offers an ideal Hwange Safari for families with young children or small private groups. Located in the heart of Hwange National Park on a private concession, this family camp provides breathtaking views of the golden savannah plains from under a canopy of Acacias.

The camp features a lounge, dining room, boma, swimming pool, and an elephant drinking pool, offering close encounters and excellent photo opportunities. It includes two luxury family tents with inter-leading access and two luxury sail tents, all with en-suite facilities and panoramic bush views through gauze sliding doors. On special request, Somalisa Acacia can be booked with Somalisa Camp to cater for larger groups of up to 20 people. A private guide and tour leader facility is available on special request.

Somalisa Acacia Camp Information

Location & Getting There
You can get to Somalisa Acacia Camp with a 45-minute flight from Victoria Falls International Airport, which lands at Manga Airstrip, followed by a 30-minute game drive transfer to camp. Alternatively, it's a 4-hour road journey from Victoria Falls, a 2-hour drive from VFA to Hwange Main Gate, and another 2-hour game transfer to the camp.

Accommodation
Somalisa Acacia can accommodate a maximum of eight guests across four tents, which include two family tents featuring inter-leading walkways between the parents' and children's rooms. Each tent has gauze sliding doors, a glass wood burner, dark teak furniture, and an en suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor shower facilities.

Activities
Activities on offer are game drives and walking excursions with the camp’s professional guides. Most activities are in the Somalisa private concession but with easy access to other parts of Hwange National Park.

Children
Children of all ages are welcome, although it's better suited to families with older offspring.
