Location & Getting There

Arctic SnowHotel & Glass Igloos are located in Lapland on the Arctic Circle, approximately 26km from the town of Rovaniemi in Finland.

The glass-roofed igloos provide the opportunity to sleep beneath the starry skies and the Northern Lights (although sightings of the Northern Lights can never be guaranteed). Each igloo is extremely well heat insulated - the temperature is the same as in normal hotel rooms. The roof of the igloo is made from electrically heated glass, which means the glass will not cool the space; rather it maintains evenly distributed warmth while melting all the snow and ice off the roof to give you excellent view to the sky. In addition, the igloo has underfloor heating.

SnowHotel sleeps 70 guests and is one of the largest in the Nordic region. This handsome building is carved each year to be different in appearance. The walls and furniture surfaces of the unique rooms are decorated with ice art and illuminated artwork. The room temperature is 0–5C°, but using the sleeping bags combined with reindeer furs, you can be sure you will stay in warmth and comfort.

There are snow games and activities galore in Finland. Go hiking, try snow sculpting, enjoy ice fishing, have fun snowmobiling, or get cultural with a visit to a local home to learn more about life in Lapland.

Children are most welcome at Arctic SnowHotel & Glass Igloos.
