Designed to blend in with the natural surroundings, each villa is stylish and spacious, featuring a king-size bed, a lavish bathroom, panoramic windows and a private balcony. The main restaurant serves traditional local and international cuisine. Guests can pick their own fresh fruit from the hotel’s fruit trees and there is an organic vegetable garden. There is also a bar.

Take a boat trip on the lake to the floating market; see the distinctive leg-rowing technique of the Intha ethnic group; visit local villages; or head to the Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery and the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, a famous pilgrimage site. Villa Inle Resort & Spa is a charming resort nestled amidst 20 acres of tropical gardens on the shores of Inle Lake, a 90-minute drive from Heho Airport.

Accommodation

The spa resort provides 27 wooden, Myanmar-style bungalows overlooking the lake and offering the utmost privacy and seclusion. These bungalows feature high wooden ceilings, spacious living areas and bathrooms, together with the lakefront balcony from which guests can watch fishermen glide by on the lake, and flocks of migratory and Inle local birds take off from the surrounding treetops.

Activities

Take a boat trip on the lake to the floating market; see the distinctive leg-rowing technique of the Intha ethnic group; visit local villages; or head to the Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery and the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, a famous pilgrimage site. Excursions further afield and around the Inle region can also be arranged, such as to Taunggyi, Kakku and Pindaya.

Children

Children are welcome, though the resort isn't particularly recommended for those that are very young as there are no facilities. Babysitting service is available.
