Marketing ExecutiveRomy’s love for travel began at a young age, growing up in the Middle East – from Jordan to Saudi Arabia and finally Dubai. Born in the Netherlands to English and Dutch–Indian parents, her multicultural upbringing and expat lifestyle sparked a lifelong curiosity for new places, people, and cuisines.
Before attending the University of Leeds, Romy travelled through India, Morocco and Southeast Asia, followed by an extended journey through South America and Central America after her studies. What began as a four-month trip to Sri Lanka in 2024 soon became home – a place that reflects her love of nature, warmth, and creative freedom.
Starting her career in Dubai as a journalist, Romy now works as a freelance creative strategist, channelling her skills and creativity into social media, writing, and marketing. She collaborates with Lightfoot Travel and other international clients across the travel and lifestyle industries, while also contributing to publications such as Conde Nast Traveller Middle East.
A lover of food, art, travel, and animals, she’s happiest somewhere coastal and sun-soaked – with street dogs at her feet and a plate of something spicy from a local spot.
