Tabacon Thermal Resort & Spa

Fed from the core of the Arenal Volcano, the mineral-rich waters of River Tabacon have been transformed into a unique luxury getaway. A member of Leading Hotels of the World, Tabacon Thermal Resort and Spa in Costa Rica offers luxurious accommodation, a wellness spa, and a thermal experience wrapped in a 900-acre rainforest property.

There are 103 guestrooms and suites. The elegant rooms are decorated in earthy tones with handmade furniture and artworks by local artisans. Some rooms feature views of the volcano, sometimes accompanied by glowing lava flows and sparks, while deluxe rooms and suites feature hot-spring-fed hot tubs.

Guests enjoy access to the thermal resort, with over a dozen pools flowing alongside waterfalls and secluded bathing spots. There’s an adults-only Shangri-La Gardens exclusively for hotel guests.

The two restaurants serve Costa Rican cuisine and international dishes, and there are a handful of bars dotted around along with an open-air spa deep in the rainforest.
