Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba

Cusco, Sacred Valley, & Machu Picchu

Perched on a hillside overlooking the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba is a contemporary, hacienda-style hotel. One of National Geographic’s Unique Lodges of the World, it offers views over the Peruvian Andes and an insight into traditional Inca culture.

The 36 guestrooms and suites reflect the culture of the Sacred Valley, incorporating elements of Andean and Spanish colonial design. Hand-woven rugs, alpaca blankets and local handicrafts adorn the rooms, along with modern technology and floor-to-ceiling windows with mountain views.

The restaurant serves Andean cuisine with an earth-to-table concept where guests are invited to see how the organic farm is run and pick their own produce.

There are numerous activities on offer from cooking classes, wine tasting and farm visits, to hiking, biking, horse riding and birdwatching. Guests can immerse themselves in traditional culture with a Payment to the Earth ceremony, and reconnect with nature with a spa treatment.

Why we recommend Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba

Get involved in your stay here such as picking your own product from the farm, harvesting and grinding corn as you learn about the production of chich de jora, and taking part in a pachamama ceremony, which make this much more than your typical hotel stay. It's amazing location overlooking the Sacred Valley is also pretty unique in the area and help make it one of our favourite places to stay.
