Casa Pestagua is an award-winning luxury boutique hotel situated in the heart of the ancient walled city of Cartagena in Colombia. It was built in the 18th century by the Count of Pestagua in the style of a Moorish palace featuring ochre walls, painted ceilings carved stone windows, and marble statues. Recently restored to its original splendor, it combines colonial style with Spanish influences and modern comforts.

Casa Pestagua provides just 11 expansive and elegant rooms and suites with palatial ceilings and period colonial-republican and Art Deco decor. Some rooms are more modern than others, but all exude romantic charm.

The hotel is ideally located for exploring the port city of Cartagena. Stroll through cobbled streets to Santo Domingo Square, visit the Museo del Oro, and the Palacio de la Inquisicion, or take a boat trip to the magical Islas del Rosario. Back at the hotel, sip a cocktail in the rooftop Jacuzzi as you admire the views.

There are 11 exceptionally spacious and elegantly appointed rooms including 2 suites ranging from 32-sqm Superior Rooms to 82-sqm Grand Suites. Each room features elevated ceilings, huge shuttered windows, colonial furnishings in Republic or Art Deco style, a king-size bed, a huge marble bathroom, and all mod cons.

Activities
When it comes to things to do and see in this ancient city, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Must-dos include visiting El Castillo de San Felipe, walking around the city walls, taking a mud bath at El Totumo Volcano, and going on a carriage ride at night.

Children
Families are welcome although the hotel has a quiet atmosphere. Babysitting can be arranged.
