&Beyond Galapagos Explorer

Galapagos Islands

A floating sanctuary for just 12 guests, the AndBeyond Galapagos Explorer offers a luxury holiday to the Galapagos, combining refined comfort with the thrill of true exploration. Sail into the archipelago’s remote heart, encountering wildlife and landscapes few will ever see, and experience them in their natural state. Two 7-night itineraries explore either the eastern or western islands, each with its own unique wildlife and landscapes, and can be taken individually or combined for the complete journey. Four light-filled decks provide space to move freely, with indoor and outdoor lounges flowing into al fresco dining and panoramic viewpoints, alongside four cabins and two suites. Available to board per room or suite, or as a private charter, making it an ideal choice for multigenerational groups or bespoke itineraries.

Accommodation

Four cabins and two suites accommodate just 12 guests, with six ocean-facing rooms providing uninterrupted views. Interiors feature polished woods, soft linens, and ensuite bathrooms, creating a sense of personal space and comfort while remaining intimately connected to the surrounding seascape. Décor is colourful yet tasteful, full of character but never overwhelming, creating spaces that are both distinctive and cosy.

Food & Drink

Meals reflect the rhythm of island life, from ocean-fresh ceviche to warm Ecuadorian dishes. Snacks are available throughout the day, and a fully stocked bar with an impressive Chilean and Argentine wine list polishes off the culinary experience. A thoughtful touch is the hot chocolate with Amarula served after snorkelling – a small detail that connects beautifully with guests who’ve travelled with &Beyond in Africa.

Experiences

Guests can snorkel alongside sea lions, hike volcanic landscapes, encounter iguanas, or observe seabird activity from the cliffside trails. Each day can be filled with wildlife watching, island tours, birdwatching, or from the boat, snorkelling, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Each island presents unique wildlife, terrain, and moments that deepen understanding of the Galápagos ecosystem. With a maximum of 12 guests, guiding is highly personalised: one naturalist guide leads groups of up to 8, and when the vessel is full, a second guide ensures excursions remain intimate and informative.

Sustainability

The Galapagos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978, is home to species found nowhere else. Over 97% of the islands are protected as a national park, with strict visitor limits. Voyages align with these measures, using locally sourced food, banning single-use plastics, and providing refillable water bottles. The operator also contributes to conservation projects, including the Galapagos Whale Shark Project, the Pescado Azul Women's Association, and the Oceans Without Borders initiative.

Children

Children 12 and above are welcome, and for private charters children aged 7 and above are welcome.

Best Time to Go

The best season depends on your interests. December to May offers wet, warm and sunny conditions with calmer seas ideal for swimming, while June to November brings cooler weather with nutrient-rich waters, attracting albatrosses and penguins, and is better for land-based wildlife activities.

How to Get There

Fly to Quito or Guayaquil, then connect to Baltra Seymour Airport. From Baltra, a private transfer brings guests to the main bay, where the vessel’s zodiac will transport them to the ship.

Why we recommend &Beyond Galapagos Explorer

One of our favourite things about this yacht is the balance between intimacy and expertise. The guide-to-guest ratio is one of the best in the Galapagos, meaning excursions always feel personal and insightful. Service is warm and thoughtful, from Amarula-spiked hot chocolate after a cold snorkel to attentive touches throughout the day. While it doesn’t offer spa or massage services, the Explorer excels in guiding, comfort, and character – making it ideal for travellers who want depth of experience as much as luxury.
