Castello di Guarene

Italy

Set on an 18th century estate overlooking the UNESCO-listed Langhe vineyards, Castello di Guarene is an icon of the region. Surrounded by manicured gardens, this three-storey palace has been renovated to house a museum, hotel, restaurant and spa, which have the Relais & Chateaux seal of approval.

The 15 guestrooms and suites reflect the original character of the property, with golden headboards, heavy drapes, period furniture, fine silk fabrics, velvet wall coverings, and marble en suites. The spacious suites have separate lounges, and some feature wall frescoes or antique Chinese tapestries.

The restaurant serves traditional Piedmont cuisine. Meals are complemented by a fine wine cellar containing the entire range of Piedmont’s finest wines.

Enjoy a range of food and drink experiences, including vineyard visits and truffle hunting (seasonal), explore local villages, or take to the skies with a helicopter tour. Rejuvenate mind, body and spirit in the exquisite spa.

Why we recommend Castello di Guarene

“Castello di Guarene stands out as one of the very best places to stay in the region. With lavish period furniture, heavy drapes, paintings and restored parquet floors, this former summer residence for the Counts of Roero, built on the site of a medieval fortress, offers an elegant and luxurious stay. The exterior is equally as impressive as the interior thanks to the gardens which are designed in the style of 18th century Italy with views over the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Langhe hills.”
