Luang Say Lodge

Laos

Located on the banks of the Mekong River just outside Pakbeng, Luang Say Lodge is a collection of traditional Lao pavilions backed by jungle. Most visitors only stay for one night, stopping overnight on the Luang Say Cruise between Huay Xai on the Thai border and Luang Prabang in Laos.

Constructed from rosewood and teak, the 20 pavilions have a simple, rustic charm with dark wooden furniture and crisp, white fabrics. Inside, there are mosquito nets, a ceiling fan, and bathroom with hot shower and Western-style toilet, while picture windows offer magnificent views of the river and mountains.

Wooden walkways connect the pavilions with a riverside restaurant serving traditional Lao meals made from local, organic produce. If there are more than 20 guests, a traditional music and dance performance accompanies the meal. There’s also a bar serving alcohol, soft drinks and cocktails.

Continental breakfasts are served in the morning before guests rejoin the cruise.
