Yangshuo Mountain Retreat

Set on the banks of the Yulong River, Yangshuo Mountain Retreat is an idyllic hideaway a few miles outside of Yangshuo. This simple eco-lodge is surrounded by karst mountains, picturesque villages, and lush rice fields, and is a wonderful base for experiencing a slice of rural Chinese life.

The hotel has 29 guestrooms and suites accommodating between one and four people, all with river or mountain views. The simple rooms are furnished in traditional style with locally made furniture, vibrant textiles, and local artworks.

The hotel’s riverside restaurant offers local cuisine on a farm-to-table basis, along with some Western favorites. There’s also a bar with books, board games, and a log fire in winter.

The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle into Yangshuo, and there’s a host of activities on offer from cookery and calligraphy lessons, to river tours, food tours, local village visits, hiking, and biking.
