Aman Summer Palace

Beijing & Northern China

Occupying a peaceful setting outside Beijing in China's sprawling city, Aman Summer Palace is housed in a series of heritage buildings next to the Summer Palace, where guests once stayed while waiting for an audience with the Empress. Set around a labyrinth of courtyards, the resort reflects the architecture and design of the Qing dynasty.

Aman’s 51 guestrooms and suites feature lofty ceilings with wooden beams, Jin clay tiled floors, king-size beds, and palatial bathrooms with freestanding tubs and walk-in showers. The Imperial Suite straddles three pavilions with its own courtyard and private spa room.

The resort has three restaurants serving Cantonese and Imperial cuisine, French-Japanese fusion dishes, and a Western-style grill. There’s also a traditional teahouse and a bar.

One of the gates leading to the 260-year-old UNESCO-listed Summer Palace is on the hotel’s doorstep, while the Great Wall and Temple of Heaven are nearby. There’s plenty to do in the resort too - from the subterranean pool and spa to the private cinema with daily screenings.
