Amanbagh

Rajasthan

Situated in the rural foothills of the Aravalli Hills, Amanbagh is a regal garden estate in the starkly beautiful wilds of Rajasthan.

A pale pink sandstone retreat set within a walled compound, Amanbagh was once the site of the Maharajah of Alwar’s hunting lodge, and was his favoured garden retreat. Evoking the cultural richness, the princely pleasures, and the dramatic romance of the Moghul era, Amanbagh pays homage to India’s golden age with palatial splendour and attention to detail.

Amanbagh’s 24 Haveli Suites and 16 Pool Pavilions are uncluttered and minimalist yet still exude the richness of the Moghul era. There are four categories of luxury accommodation and each one features a beautiful large bathtub carved from Udaipur green marble, Bose sound systems and a personal bar. The Pool Pavilions have their own private swimming pool and spacious garden.

There is one restaurant located in the main building with tables on the terrace overlooking the pool. Make sure to order at least one Indian Punjabi thali!

Why we recommend Amanbagh

India can challenge all of our senses, and Amanbagh offers respite from this. I love the simplicity of this property that still retains its stylishness! After having travelled through the vibrant state of Rajasthan, you’ll appreciate that there are no tourist shops, that the local children are shy, and that life happens at a slower pace. I’d recommend opting for the Terrace Haveli Suites – these are the perfect place from which to end your culture packed journey in Northern India. Just enjoy the resort’s oasis setting and the spa that consistently receives incredible reviews.
