With 82 suites and villas spread across five resorts, they’re designed to guide visitors on a journey through the Happiest Place on Earth.
The Six Senses lodge at Thimphu is influenced by traditional regal dzong architecture, hence its nickname ‘the Palace in the Sky’. Perched on a hill overlooking the Thimphu Valley and monumental Buddha Dordenma statue, the lodge blends tradition with culture, with handcrafted artefacts juxtaposed against wood panelling, whitewashed walls and natural stone features.
Outside, the building is partly surrounded by reflecting pools and there’s a prayer pavilion facing the Buddha statue. There’s an onsite restaurant and spa with traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath as well as a swimming pool with views across the valley.
