Six Senses Bumthang

Gangtey, Bumthang & Beyond

Six Senses Bhutan is a collection of five intimate lodges set in the western and central valleys of Bhutan, each offering its own character, environment and experiences. With 82 suites and villas spread across five resorts, they’re designed to guide visitors on a journey through the Happiest Place on Earth.

Set to open this year, Six Senses Bumthang is known as a ‘Forest in a Forest’. Accommodation is in single-storey wooden buildings set within a pine forest in the Jakar Valley. In line with Six Senses’ sustainability policy, the furniture is handcrafted from recycled wood, while floor-to-ceiling windows overlook lush woodland.

The lodge has an onsite restaurant. There’s also an outdoor deck, ideal for sunset refreshments, and a spa with a traditional hot stone bath.

Activities include hiking, horseback riding and wildlife watching, and there are temples and monasteries to explore including Tamzhing Lhundrup Lhakhang, the most important ancient temple in the Kingdom.
