NorwaySet in an idyllic location in the Arctic Circle, Snowhotel Kirkenes is surrounded by forests and mountains on the banks of an arctic fjord. The unique igloo hotel is crafted afresh from snow and ice each winter, offering guests a magical winter wonderland.
There are 20 rooms decorated with individually carved ice sculptures following a theme from Arctic nature, folklore, or fairy tales. Despite the temperature of -4, guests enjoy a good night’s sleep in thermal sleeping bags. There are also cozy ‘Gamme’ cabins open year-round, ideal for Northern Lights watching and summer adventures.
Snowhotel has two restaurants serving fresh local produce such as king crab, reindeer, and arctic fish.
There’s an array of winter activities on offer, including husky sledding, king crab safaris, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice fishing, and Northern Lights hunting. After a thrilling day, warm up with a sauna and nightcap in the Icebar before bed.
