The Brando

French Polynesia

The Brando is a unique luxury resort on French Polynesia’s private island of Tetiaroa – an atoll composed of a dozen small islands surrounding a sparkling lagoon 30 miles northeast of Tahiti. Access to the island is by private plane which departs from a private terminal at Faa'a International Airport.

The resort features 35 one-, two- and three-bedroom villas. Each one has been designed to enhance the serenity of the surroundings, so you’ll feel as if the indoor and outdoor have merged together. The living rooms are furnished with comfortable chairs and sofas, there’s a private pool, and the beach is located just steps away. The adjoining bathrooms feature al-fresco bathtubs.

The resort’s two restaurants showcase Polynesian-inspired dishes, East/West fusion, and classic French cuisine. The Beachcomber Café serves Polynesian-inspired dishes alongside classic French cuisine.

The Varua Spa, which is hidden away in the coconut palms and offers Polynesian treatments, should not be missed.

Why we recommend The Brando

The actor Marlon Brando bought Tetiaroa in 1966 after visiting Tahiti to film Mutiny on the Bounty. Today this is one of the true eco-friendly hotels in the world and this shines through in everything they do - with no plastic, sustainable energy sources and even reef-friendly sunscreen provided. With your own private plunge pool and beachfront access if you don’t want to leave your villa, you really don’t have to. A fabulous stay for the beach - and earth-loving families and honeymooners alike.
