Touakarino Rausu Daiichi Hotel is a traditional Japanese ryokan, located in a peaceful valley in the heart of the UNESCO-listed Shiretoko National Park. Surrounded by nature and close to the coast, this simple property offers a charming base for exploring the region.

Choose between a Western-style twin bedded room, or a Japanese-style room with tatami mats and futon bedding for up to four guests. Both categories of room have an en suite with shower and bath.

A complimentary Japanese breakfast is provided, while evening meals are sumptuous Japanese affairs, featuring traditional produce and fresh seafood from Rausu.

Shiretoko is one of Japan’s most beautiful parks and there’s plenty to explore, including Maccaus Cave, Rausu Kunashiri Observatory Deck, Kuma-no-yu hot springs, and abundant birds and wildlife to observe. After a day out, visit the outside onsen while keeping eyes peeled for deer and foxes that sometimes visit the grounds.
