Grootbos Garden Lodge

Located on an award-winning eco-reserve in Gansbaai near the southern tip of Africa, Grootbos Garden Lodge sits within a Milkwood forest tucked between mountains and ocean. Surrounded by landscaped gardens, the lodge offers a combination of African style with contemporary luxuries, and has panoramic ocean and fynbos views.

The 11 suites are private and peaceful. Decorated in neutral tones with tiny pops of colour, each suite has underfloor heating, a cosy lounge with fireplace, en suite with freestanding tub and walk-in shower, and a private deck with captivating views.

The restaurant serves organic cuisine accompanied by fine South African wines. Half of all the ingredients used are sourced from the property’s Growing the Future food production and social upliftment project, based right on the reserve.

There’s plenty to do here, from lazing around the pool to birdwatching and botanical 4x4 tours on the Grootbos Nature Reserve. Heading further afield, there are opportunities for whale watching, shark cage diving, wine tours, marine and coastal safaris, and scenic flights.
