Magashi Camp

Rwanda

Located northeast of Akagera National Park overlooking scenic Lake Rwanyakazinga, Magashi Camp is a relatively new luxury camp from Wilderness Safaris. This eco-friendly camp is surrounded by sweeping savannah, lakes and swamps, and is home to one of Africa’s highest hippo densities, as well as plains game and a healthy lion population.

Inspired by Rwandan culture, the six tents are spacious and luxurious with comfortable beds, a seated area, plenty of African touches, and open sides with fantastic lake views. There’s also an open-plan lounge and dining area, bar, viewing deck with warming fire pit, and a swimming pool.

Magashi Camp offers a range of activities including game drives and nocturnal game drives, and boating trips to see hippos and crocodiles. Guided walks will take you closer to the wildlife, and you can try your hand at fishing. Birdwatching is amazing with over 500 species including the magnificent shoebill.
