Maasai Mara & Southern KenyaThe Mara Plains Camp sits to the north of the legendary Maasai Mara in the 35,000-acre Olare Motorogi Conservancy. This tented camp is both a Relais & Chateaux property and one of National Geographic’s Unique Lodges of the World.
There are just seven tents, constructed to minimise impact on the land. Set on raised decks and open on three sides, they feature a dressing area and en suite with hot shower, and their decoration pays homage to east African culture.
Meals are a fusion of international cuisine and local flavours, and guests can eat at a time that suits them, including picnics when out on bush walks or game drives.
There are numerous opportunities to see Africa’s wildlife, including day and night game drives, guided walks, photographic safaris, birdwatching and hot air balloon rides, as well as cultural visits to Maasai villages. In the evening, swap stories in the lounge and bar, or gaze at the night sky.
