Sausage Tree Safari Camp has seven luxurious, Africa safari-style tents nestled along the riverbank for maximum privacy. Interiors are simple yet stylish and include teak furnishings, four-poster beds, stunning open-air bathrooms and huge teak decks shaded by mahogany and sausage trees. Honeymoon suites are exceptionally spacious and provide the ultimate indulgence with private plunge pools and indoor and outdoor bathrooms. Each tent comes with a ‘muchinda’ (personal butler). There is also a two-bedroom house with a pool and dining table for private meals, which is ideal for families.
Start the day with breakfast on the deck overlooking the bush and a waterhole. Enjoy a delicious dinner of African-inspired fusion cuisine under the stars on the banks of the river, by a campfire deep in the bush or in the privacy of your tent.
Activities at Sausage Tree Safari Camp are plentiful, with day and night game drives, bush walks and fishing available. A morning canoe trip along the channel alongside the camp is a must. There are also a number of tours that can be arranged in the area from hot air ballooning and river safaris to visiting an animal rehabilitation centre. Relax after a busy day with a spot of game viewing from the privacy of your deck or cool off in the pool.

- Location & Getting There
Sausage Tree Camp is located at lower Zambizi National Park. Flights are available from Lusaka, Lvingstone and Mfuwe to Jeki airstrip in the middle of the National Park, which is a 1 hour game-drive through to the camp. The other more adventurous option is the road and boat transfer from Lusaka. This consists of a 2 ½ hr drive to Chirundu, a border town on the Zambezi River. From here guests are transfered to the property by speed boats for a stunningly scenic boat cruise down the Zambezi.
Sausage Tree Camp comprises of a total of 8 tents, accommodating 16 guests. It has 5 signature tents, 2 honeymoon suites and a family suite (Kigelia House). The signature tents are equipped with an open air en-suite bathroom that have spectacular private decks with Zambezi River views while the Honeymoon Suites have an indoor and outdoor bathroom, dining area and a private pool. The Kigelia house is the perfect stay for families with two en-suite bedrooms and a private deck and pool. All tents have hot and cold treated water.
