Day 1 Your Journey Begins on Kauai

Your trip begins with an international flight from Hong Kong Airport to Honolulu Airport, via Tokyo on Japan Airlines. After a short domestic flight, you’ll reach the magical island of Kauai. After collecting your luggage and picking up your hire car, you’ll soon be on your way to Koa Kea Hotel & Resort, an intimate luxury boutique property, where you’ll spend three fabulous nights. Once checked in, relax and unwind in the privacy of your Partial Ocean View Room, which connects to another room for your children, and is steps from Poipu Beach. Later on, go for a stroll along the beach and make the most of the superb facilities, which include a saltwater pool and oceanfront spa.

Day 2 Exploring Kauai’s Natural Wonders

After a delicious breakfast, you’ll set off on a half-day private hike around the spectacular, 16km long, 900m deep Waimea Canyon, located on the western side of the island. Your local guide will tailor your adventure to your wishes. In the afternoon, it’s time for a private kayak trip down Hanalei River and into Hanalei Bay, where you’ll get a glimpse of Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles, before heading over to the beach and into the water for a spot of snorkelling. A deli-style lunch will be served.

Day 3 Na Pali Coast Rafting Adventure

Today, you’ll head out on an exhilarating half day rafting trip along the rugged Na Pali coastline accompanied by friendly experts from Captain Andy’s. They’ll take you into magnificent sea caves and past mesmerizing waterfalls and dizzying 3000-foot cliffs and pinnacles, spotting an array of sea life including dolphins along the way. Don’t forget to wear your swimsuits and bring a towel and sunscreen! If you still have some energy after the trip, explore the charming Old Koloa Town or visit Spouting Horn, one of the island’s spectacular natural wonders.

Day 4 Arrival in Maui

It’s time to drop your rental car back at the airport and take a short domestic flight to the enchanting island of Maui. On arrival, collect your car rental and head for Andaz Maui Hotel, a charming beachfront property that will be your home for the next three nights. After unpacking your things in your spacious and stylish suite decorated with local artwork and crisp white fabrics, relax on your balcony and enjoy the views across the dazzling ocean or explore the hotel at your leisure. As well as private access to the crescent-shaped Mokapu Beach, there are five dining options, four infinity pools, a poolside cocktail lounge and a pool just for adults. There’s plenty of activities ranging from kayaking to sunset yoga, as well as an activity programme to keep your kids entertained, while you sip a cocktail by the pool.

Day 5 Maui by Helicopter

Today you’ll get to explore Maui from the air. Make your own way to the departure point for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in a helicopter. Fly over key points of interest including Haleakala National Park and Haleakala Crater as well as Oheo Gulch (Seven Pools), Hana town and the Hana Rainforest Preserve, the largest rainforest in the United States. You’ll also get to see spectacular waterfalls and the rugged shoreline of East Maui. The rest of the day is for you to do whatever you wish.

Day 6 Explore Maui at Leisure

Spend today at your leisure and there’s certainly plenty to do and see around the island. If you have a 4×4, it’s fun to drive along the Road to Hana, explore Maui on mountain bikes or visit a pineapple farm in the historic plantation town of Hali’imaile. For those who love the water, book a snorkeling trip to the beautiful islet of Molokini or perhaps enjoy a surfing or paddle boarding lesson. Or maybe you’d rather just relax by one of the hotel pools and soak up some sun.

Day 7 The Big Island

It’s time to say farewell to Maui. After a short domestic flight, you’ll arrive on the Big Island (officially named Hawaii). Once you’ve picked up your car rental, it’s a 40-minute drive to Fairmont Orchid-Hawaii, set in lush 32-acre grounds on the Kohala Coast of Waikoloa, where you’ll spend the next three nights. Once checked in you can relax in the comfort of your room, which overlooks the ocean. There’s a connecting room for your kids. In addition to an infinity pool, there’s ten tennis courts and a 36-hole golf course if you fancy a game or you can enjoy a blissful massage in the open-air at the Hawaiian spa.

Day 8 Circle of Fire and Waterfalls Heli Tour

Make your way to the pick up point for your heli tour. You’ll have a chance to explore the world’s most geologically active environment from high above, taking in jaw-dropping scenery such as lavas flows, tropical rain forests and spectacular waterfalls, and learning all about the fascinating history and culture of Hawaii. Spend the rest of your day relaxing at the hotel or exploring the island at your leisure.

Day 9 The Big Island is Yours to Explore

Today is for you to enjoy as you wish and you can do as much or as little as you choose. The Big Island boasts everything from black sand beaches and lava deserts to snow-capped peaks and rainforests. If you need recommendations then you can’t go wrong with snorkeling in Kealakekua Bay, horse-riding down to the wild black sand beach or visiting ancient temples in Pu’uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park. Zip lining above the rainforest in North Kohala is ideal for thrill-seekers and night snorkelling with Manta Rays is particularly special.

Day 10 Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Once you check out of your hotel, it’s a two-hour drive across the Big Island to the historic Volcano House where you’ll stay for the night. You could also take the scenic coastal road, which will take around three hours. This utterly charming hotel is located on the rim of the Kilauea caldera in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The guest rooms are delightful and combine rustic island décor with modern comforts. Spend the rest of your day at your leisure. The national park has 150 miles of hiking trails and can be explored on foot or by bike. Highlights include the Thurston Lava Tube, a 500-year old lava cave, and the famed Kilauea volcano.

Day 11 Waikiki Beach and Shopping Heaven

In the morning, you’ll leave the Big Island and fly back to Honolulu where’ll you spend two nights at Halekulani, a beautiful beachfront hotel set in five acres of lush grounds on the famed Waikiki Beach. Once you’ve unpacked and had time to relax, step out of your stylish Oceanfront Room and take a stroll along the beach, a great place for people watching, or indulge a spot of retail therapy. In the evening, enjoy a mouthwatering dinner at La Mer, one of three restaurants in the hotel.

Day 12 Honolulu

Today is for you to spend at your leisure. There’s plenty to see and do and recommendations include visiting Pearl Harbor, a dolphin cruise or even shark cage diving if you’re feeling adventurous. Or you may simply wish to relax in the comfort of the hotel, watch surfers at Waikiki beach or hit the shops one more time!

Day 13 Farewell Hawaii

It’s time to say a fond farewell to Hawaii as your adventure comes to an end. At least you’ll be taking with you happy memories, which will last a lifetime. After returning your rental car to the airport, you’ll check in for your Japan Airlines flight to Tokyo.

Day 14 Tokyo to Hong Kong

And so begins the final leg of your journey from Tokyo to Hong Kong.
