An exclusive and private tour in the South of France: charming sites and secret locations. You will experience the art-of-living of Southern France by visiting lavender fields, a perfume factory, a wine estate, local food market, and enjoying fine dining in Provencal style.
Day 1: Nice, French Riviera
Start your South of France trip with a traditional Provencal lunch in the beautiful village of Eze. You will enjoy unbeatable panoramic views of Nice and Monaco.
You will then go to Saint Paul de Vence in Grasse, the region of perfume. The focus of this region is on the diversity of aromatic flowers and plants, with many famous French perfume companies originating here. From here you will be taken to an authentic perfume factory, Fragonard, to learn about the process. You even get to make your own unique fragrance to take home with you.
Day 2: Coteaux d'Aix and Aix-en-Provence
Provence’s wine growing culture stems from the 6th century. This morning you will be the guest of a reputable wine estate in Coteaux d’Aix for a visit and a tasting. After this you will be driven to Aix-en Provence into the heart of Provence.
Day 3: Manosque, Verdon cayon and Moustiers Sainte Marie
You will be taken to L’Occitane’s headquarter factory which is, unsurprisingly, surrounded by beautiful purple-blue lavender fields. You will visit this factory and learn how they transform this natural richness to the aromatic skincare products.
From here you will go to Moustiers Sainte Marie in Verdon Cayon, one of the most beautiful villages in France, surrounded by the Verdon cayon, the Sainte-Croix Lake and the lavender fields of the Valensole plateau.
Day 4: Luberon
Going to the local market is one of the must-dos in Provence, especially as it only takes place one morning per week. With many different stores selling from Provencal herbs and spices, local olives, lavender oil, colourful fruits and vegetables, hand-made porcelain, you can browse for hours.
Walk around the medieval village of Luberon in the afternoon – again one of France’s most picturesque attractions.
Day 5-6: Avignon and Chateauneuf-du-Pape Palace
Avignon is one of France’s most popular summer destinations. Whilst here, visit the Chateauneuf-du-Pape palace dating back to the 14th century.
Whilst at the Chateauneuf-du-Pape, visit their wine estate and make sure you sample some of their renowned red and white vintages.
Day 7-8: Alpilles
Another specialty of the South of France are olives. You will go to the typical hilltop village of Baux-de-Provence to visit an olive oil factory. Following this, enjoy the afternoon perusing round the typically French village discovering the charm of its locals and its gastronomic world with a large focus on olives.
Spend a night and the next day in the stunning village of Saint-Rémy de Provence, one of the South of France’s ‘must-see’ villages.
Day 9: Arles
People think of Arles for its wealth of ancient and Romanic heritage, with its UNESCO listed buildings and monuments. Enjoy a day rich in culture wandering around its impressive buildings.
Day 10 - 11: The Camargue
The Camargue is a picturesque Regional Park and natural reserve, full of natural spaces, acting as a sanctuary for fauna and flora uncommon in Europe.
The following day you will return to Marseille for your flight home.
