Day 1: Arrival into Bali

Upon arrival, you will be met by a Lightfoot Travel representative and taken by private transfer to your hotel.

The Four Seasons Sayan is a fantastic hotel for families. The Pici Pici (“little snail”) Club offers fun and discovery for children aged 5 to 12 years. Creative and culturally enriching, the programme is divided into sports, adventure based games, creative play and arts and crafts. Children get to hang out in the bright and colourful play centre, and the Rice Barn Tree House which is tucked into its own jungle wonderland, as they immerse themselves into activities such as learning Balinese dance classes, palm leaf folding classes, relaxing with books and board games.

After checking in, spend the rest of the day at leisure, enjoying the hotel and its facilities.

Day 2: Balinese Offerings & Painting

This morning you will be picked up and attend a workshop to learn all about Balinese offerings. This is an extremely important activity for the Balinese and has become a daily routine in every household. Kids will learn how to make these simple offerings that are crucial for the practice of Hinduism. The combination of the flowers and what each colour means is explained during the class.

The next workshop introduces the art of Balinese painting. You will each get individual instruction and the children will be able to produce their own painting – sure to be a trip highlight!

You will have the rest of the day at leisure. We recommend parents treating themselves to an afternoon spa session!

Day 3: Cycling in Ubud

After breakfast depart from the hotel and embark on a cycling adventure. Bike through villages and rice paddies, taking in the gorgeous scenery and meeting Ubud residents.

Next, learn all about Indonesian cooking traditions with a family cooking class. Kids will love mixing spices, picking vegetables and putting together a comprehensive menu that they can then enjoy sampling afterwards!

Alila Seminyak has a dedicated play space for young guests, keeping them entertained and engaged with toys, games and fun, supervised indoor and outdoor activities. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Seminyak, within walking distance of restaurants and shops.

Day 5: Monkey Forest & Tanah Lot

Today, embark on a half-day tour that takes in three very different highlights.

First, pay a visit to Pura Taman Ayun, a compound of Balinese temples and gardens, located in Mengwi. The temple was built in 1634 for the royal family, and is arguably one of the most beautiful temples on the island.

Your next stop is the Monkey Forest at Kedaton, where over 500 monkeys of varying sizes share the forest with numerous fruit bats. Each of these monkeys has its own personality, and its a great place to ‘monkey watch’ to see who is the troupe’s Alpha Male!

Lastly, visit Tanah Lot, a magnificent temple built on an outcrop of rock just off the coastline of west Bali. This very spiritual temple can only be accessed at low tide, and people come from all over the island to drink the water and to splash it over their bodies as it is said to cleanse any bad spirits. One of the highlights of this trip is the Kecak dance, which is regularly performed in this unique setting. The dance features up to a hundred men swaying and chanting to the hypnotic music that depicts an ancient story.

After your tour, head back to Alila Seminyak and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

  • Shopping in Seminyak’s trendy clothing and furniture stores
  • White water rafting
  • Surfing lessons
