Chelinda Lodge

Tucked in a pocket of woodland on a high plateau in the Nyika National Park, Chelinda Lodge looks over grasslands dotted with herds of wildlife. Run by Central African Wilderness Safaris, this camp offers beautiful cabins, log fires for chilly highland nights, and interesting wildlife-viewing.

There are eight two-storey log cabins, two of which are interconnected to form a family unit. The downstairs is an open-plan bedroom, lounge, en suite with bath, shower and flush toilet, and a veranda. Upstairs there’s an additional living space and viewing area.

Elevated walkways connect the cabins to the central lodge, which has a restaurant, bar, lounge with fireplace, and viewing decks.

Activities include day and night game drives, where you can see animals include leopards and antelope species. There’s also mountain biking, stargazing, and nature trails to see myriad orchids and over 400 species of birds.
