The largest continuous wetland on the planet sits in the heart of South America, in the Pantanal, Brazil. And nestled amid this wildlife sanctuary is Araras Eco Lodge, a rustic yet comfortable base from which to explore the biogeographic mixing pot.
Built in harmony with the environment, but without renouncing creature comforts, the lodge offers a cozy atmosphere where visitors from diverse generations and cultures come together for a totally unique experience. Guests have 150,000 square kilometres to explore in this UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve. Spanning the Amazon, the Caatinga, the Brazilian Savannah, the Atlantic Rainforest, and the Paraguayan Chaco, this is nature’s wonderland.
Araras Eco Lodge offers 19 rooms, each with air conditioning, screened windows, and ensuite bathrooms. Rooms are rustic but comfortable, outfitted with locally sourced materials and traditional elements that create a sense of grand eco adventure. An outdoor swimming pool is a refreshing spot to cool off before you lay down on one of the relaxing hammocks for an afternoon snooze. Three square meals a day come courtesy of the restaurant, where delicious regional dishes are made from the area’s meat, fish, organic vegetables, and seasonal fruit.
