Nairobi

Nairobi is Kenya's bustling capital, and if time permits, travellers should spend a day exploring this busy city that manages to retain a great deal of charm.

There are many things to do around the city and its surrounds such as feeding the giraffes at Giraffe Manor and visiting the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where you can can adopt an orphaned elephant and watch them being fed or having their daily mud baths. Shopping is fantastic or you can visit Karen Blixen’s house from the film “Out of Africa”, which is now a museum.

Taste some of the city’s best coffee at Java House, a popular coffee chain, and sample the delicious local cuisine – ‘Nyama Choma’, or barbecued meat. There are some great luxury boutique hotels on the outskirts of the city with a great selection of gourmet food.
