As its name suggests, Uma Punakha, is located at the far western end of the lush Punakha Valley. COMO’s second Bhutan hotel sits on a bend in the Mo Chu River and is protected by alpine views. A secluded and less visited area of Bhutan, Uma Punakha is a five hour drive away from Paro and offers a unique insight into Bhutan’s unique landscapes, historic sites and spiritual culture.
The property houses nine Valley View rooms as well as two free-standing luxury private villas all of which mingle seamlessly into the landscape. Each room boasts sweeping views of the valley below as well as the Mo Chu River, which winds its way through rice fields and orchards.
The dining experience at Uma Punakha will take you on a culinary journey to numerous Bhutanese delicacies. The produce used comes from local Punakha farmers, guaranteed to be fresh.
The COMO Shambhala Retreat is a highlight and offers a range of holistic, Asian-inspired treatments which include signature massages, facials and body therapies. Nestled in a quiet woodland a stone’s throw from the main body of the hotel, the spa delights and soothes the senses with never-ending views of the valley.
